ZipInform FAQ
Questions people ask before ordering.
ZipInform turns one ZIP code into practical home-search intelligence. These answers explain what the report covers, how its geography works, how delivery works, and where ZipInform stops and address-specific due diligence begins.
What ZipInform is
What does ZipInform do?
ZipInform starts with one U.S. ZIP code and builds a practical picture of the place around it for a serious home search. The report can cover nearby communities, housing and affordability, schools, property taxes, commute patterns, safety, property risk, hospitals, local-life context, and questions worth investigating before you commit to a property.
Is ZipInform personalized to me?
No. ZipInform is intentionally different from StateMatcher's personalized relocation reports. You do not complete a personal questionnaire. The ZIP code is the starting input, and the report focuses on the place rather than building recommendations around your household profile.
How is ZipInform different from StateMatcher?
ZipInform investigates one ZIP-area home-search market without a personal questionnaire. StateMatcher is designed for broader relocation decisions and uses your priorities, household, budget, work, healthcare, family, and other circumstances to personalize state-level reports.
Where does ZipInform work?
ZipInform is designed for five-digit ZIP codes across all 50 states and Washington, DC. The Washington, DC report on the site is a sample, not a limit on coverage.
How the geography works
Does every fact in the report come from the exact ZIP code?
No. Useful home-search evidence does not all exist at one geographic level. ZipInform uses the most appropriate available geography for each topic, which may include a Census ZIP-code area, school district, city, county, metro area, or another defensible local geography. The report explains the geography being used so you can interpret the numbers correctly.
Why does the report sometimes discuss the wider metro or nearby communities?
A ZIP code sits inside a larger housing, employment, transportation, healthcare, school, and services market. Metro and nearby-community context helps you understand whether a ZIP looks different from the surrounding area and what alternatives or tradeoffs may exist nearby.
Is a ZIP code the same thing as a neighborhood?
No. ZIP codes are mailing geographies and can cross neighborhood or municipal boundaries. ZipInform uses the ZIP as an anchor and adds local context so you do not have to pretend that every meaningful local boundary matches the ZIP exactly.
Does ZipInform tell me which exact house to buy?
No. ZipInform helps you understand the area and identify what deserves closer investigation. A specific property still requires address-level due diligence such as inspections, school-boundary verification, insurance quotes, title and tax review, flood or hazard checks, and other property-specific research.
What is inside the report
Does ZipInform include housing and affordability information?
Yes. The report places local housing values, rents, housing form, affordability, and market context alongside the broader area so you can understand what the ZIP may represent in practical terms.
Does ZipInform cover schools?
Yes. ZipInform can provide public-school and district context, nearby school information, private-school options where available, and the address-level school-boundary checks that still need to be verified for a particular property.
Does ZipInform cover safety and property risk?
Yes. The report can use the most local defensible safety geography available and surface broader property-risk and insurance questions worth checking. It does not replace an insurer's quote, property inspection, hazard disclosure, or address-specific risk review.
Does ZipInform include hospitals and commuting?
Yes. The report can identify major nearby hospital options and useful healthcare context, along with commute patterns, transit, driving, work-from-home patterns, and routes worth testing yourself. Proximity does not guarantee provider access, network participation, or a particular commute experience.
Buying and receiving a ZipInform
How do I order a ZipInform?
Enter a five-digit ZIP code, confirm the area, and continue through secure checkout. The current price is shown before purchase, and your report goes into generation after the order is completed.
Why does part of the purchase flow use StateMatcher or FlagSeek?
ZipInform is a StateMatcher report, and StateMatcher is a FlagSeek company. Secure account access, payment, report generation, and delivery use shared infrastructure across the family of sites even though you began at ZipInform.com.
Do I need a separate ZipInform account?
No. ZipInform uses the same secure account system used across FlagSeek and StateMatcher. That lets your purchases and completed reports remain available through the shared My Reports area.
Where do I find my report after purchase?
Completed ZipInform reports are available through My Reports after you sign in. The shared report library gives you one place to return to reports purchased across the family of sites.
Privacy and limits
What personal information does ZipInform need?
ZipInform does not use StateMatcher's personal relocation questionnaire. The service needs the ZIP code you choose plus the account, purchase, and delivery information needed to process the order and provide the report.
Does ZipInform sell my personal information?
No. The shared FlagSeek family Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, the service providers involved, security, retention, and the choices available to you. Personal information is not sold.
Is ZipInform a home appraisal, inspection, or professional recommendation?
No. ZipInform is an informational planning and decision-support report. It is not an appraisal, inspection, title search, school-boundary determination, insurance quote, legal opinion, tax advice, medical advice, financial advice, or real-estate advice.
What should I do with the report?
Use it to understand the wider place, compare what you are seeing in listings, and make a better list of questions to verify for a specific property. ZipInform is most useful as an early intelligence layer before address-specific due diligence.
One ZIP. A much wider picture.
